Higher Ground Lyrics by Enter Shikari
I gotta get to higher ground
To spread the love around
I gotta get to higher ground
To spread the love around
I gotta stop this heart attack
And take the future back
I gotta get to higher ground
To spread the love around
To spread the love
No more giant leaps for mankind
Until we reach the peak of this climb
To spread the love, love, love, love, love
And so it begins
Positive attitude, but sore limbs
We gain altitude, the air thins
Fighting gravity for just a glimpse of reality, the bigger picture
More profound than scripture
Outmanoeuvre the minutia
A vision like Martin Luther
I’m the king of the world up here
Where you can see things aren’t how they always appear
I gotta get to higher ground
To spread the love around
I gotta get to higher ground
To spread the love around
I gotta stop this heart attack
And take the future back
I gotta get to higher ground
To spread the love around
To spread the love
No more giant leaps for mankind
Until we reach the peak of this climb
To spread the love, love, love, love, love
And so it continues
I’m afraid that all your excuses have already been used
And I’ll be stopping at nothing and no one
Till the summit’s in sight
Always moving at first light
You’re damn right
Rise above the smoke and broken mirrors
We’re long past critique
It calls for a highlight all and delete
‘Cos the silence you seek is at the peak
I gotta get to higher ground
To spread the love around
I gotta get to higher ground
To spread the love around
I gotta stop this heart attack
And take the future back
I gotta get to higher ground
To spread the love around
To spread the love around
To spread the love
No more giant leaps for mankind
Until we reach the peak of this climb
To spread the love, love, love, love, love
No more giant leaps for mankind
Until we reach the peak of this climb
To spread the love, love, love, love, love
