Longing and resentment twist together as a vanished connection leaves behind a poison-apple bite, a small wound that undoes the perfect image. The repeated insistence on knowing masks a deeper fear that the reflection will crack, yet the final boast of being eleven out of ten clings to that flawless surface anyway.
