Rigo Campos Lyrics English Translation by Los Tucanes De Tijuana
He had to be from Sinaloa,
From the Salcido family.
In a Grand Marquis car,
There rode Rigoberto Campos.
In another, his bodyguards
Were trailing close behind him.
They fell into a trap
Set by the big names in smuggling.
With AK-47s in hand,
They opened fire,
Killing Rigo instantly,
Along with his personal guard,
And wounding innocent people
Crossing the boulevard.
They say he’d once been in prison
For drug trafficking.
And just months after his release,
They found him covered in blood.
His arms had been cut off
By order of a rival.
He’d gotten prosthetic arms,
But no one could tell—
Of every kind of weapon,
He could still fire them all.
But when the day came they killed him,
He had no time for anything.
Rigoberto Campos was killed
In the city of Tijuana.
The mafia took him out
Because he’d risen too high.
He was fierce competition,
With a lot of power in hand.
He had to be from Sinaloa,
From the Salcido family.
He was cousin to Cochiloco
And the late Gabino.
Chickens won’t raise their chicks
If the hawk is still alive.
