Oliver Anthony, also known as Oliver Anthony Music, is an American country singer-songwriter. He rose to fame in 2023 with his single “Rich Men North of Richmond”, which became a viral hit song, reaching number 1 on the US iTunes Charts.
Anthony was born in Richmond, Virginia, and grew up in a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains. He started playing guitar and writing songs at a young age, and he was inspired by country music artists such as Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Merle Haggard.
Anthony moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2020 to pursue a career in music. He independently released his debut single, “Rich Men North of Richmond”, in August 2023. The song quickly went viral, and it was featured on several major country music playlists.
