Nessa Barrett

Nessa Barrett, an American singer and songwriter, was born on August 6, 2002, and initially rose to fame through TikTok.
She entered the music industry with the release of her debut single, “Pain,” in 2020.
Barrett has also released two studio albums: “Young Forever” (2022) and “Aftercare” (2024).

From a young age, she faced mental health challenges such as depression and borderline personality disorder and began therapy at the age of six. At 14, she survived a suicide attempt and was hospitalized in a psychiatric facility. At 17, against her family’s wishes, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue career opportunities, and at 18, she was formally diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.

Following the death of her friend Cooper Noriega in 2022 due to an accidental overdose, Barrett made another suicide attempt and was hospitalized again. She wrote the songs “Die First” and “Club Heaven” about Noriega, releasing both in 2023.

Nessa is known for addressing deep, personal topics in her music and for her focus on mental health awareness. Her music style primarily includes pop and emotional ballads. She is celebrated for her honesty and vulnerability in expressing emotions, which has garnered her significant popularity.

She also enjoys experimenting with various styles, incorporating elements like revengeful and cathartic tracks into her work. Barrett has said that she has been writing songs ever since she could walk and talk.
