"Happy Christmas" by David Archuleta captures the giddy buildup and warm payoff of Christmas Day. Stockings, presents, and the imagined sleigh create a childlike anticipation, while bells and caroling pull the whole scene into shared celebration. The repeated image of being cuddled by the fireside anchors the joy in closeness, not just decorations or gifts. The waiting that runs through the song finally resolves into pure relief and excitement at seeing a loved one that night. The emotional message is that the best part of the holiday is the togetherness it brings.
Happy Christmas Lyrics by David Archuleta
Stockings hanging up by the fireplace
Presents by the tree I can hardly wait
Oh
Soon enough Santa will be on his way
With all of his reindeer on his sleigh
Oh
Bells are ringing
People singing
Nothing’s better than this feeling
I’ve been waiting all year for this day
Happy Christmas
Wishing you the merriest one
Happy Christmas
Ooh we’re having bundles of fun
Happy Christmas
Cuddled by the fireside
Happy Christmas
Oh I’m so happy to see you tonight
Happy Christmas
Wishing you the merriest one
Happy Christmas
Ooh we’re having bundles of fun
Happy Christmas
Cuddled by the fireside
Happy Christmas
Oh I’m so happy to see you tonight
Walking in a winter wonderland
Seeing all the people holding hands
Oh
Yeah
Decking all the halls in red and green
Shuffling and a rocking to the caroling
Oh
Bells are ringing
People singing
Nothing’s better than this feeling
I’ve been waiting all year for this day
Happy Christmas
Wishing you the merriest one
Happy Christmas
Ooh we’re having bundles of fun
Happy Christmas
Cuddled by the fireside
Happy Christmas
Oh I’m so happy to see you tonight
Happy Christmas
Wishing you the merriest one
Happy Christmas
Ooh we’re having bundles of fun
Happy Christmas
Cuddled by the fireside
Happy Christmas
Oh I’m so happy to see you tonight
I been waiting for the holiday
All I wanna do is celebrate
Finally it’s here can hardly wait
I been waiting for the holiday
I been waiting for the holiday
All I wanna do is celebrate
Finally it’s here can hardly wait
I been waiting for the holiday
Happy Christmas
Wishing you the merriest one
Happy Christmas
Ooh we’re having bundles of fun
Happy Christmas
Cuddled by the fireside
Happy Christmas
Oh I’m so happy to see you tonight
Happy Christmas
Wishing you the merriest one
Happy Christmas
Ooh we’re having bundles of fun
Happy Christmas
Cuddled by the fireside
Happy Christmas
