"Sleigh Ride" by David Archuleta turns Christmas anticipation into a playful act of romantic mischief. While the world waits for Santa, the couple cuddles by the fire and then steals his sleigh for a private flight above the snowmen and shining lights. The cold is real, but being held tight makes it sweet, and the repeated hope that Santa won't mind frames the joy as a harmless secret. The song celebrates choosing shared adventure and closeness over waiting, finding magic less in presents than in soaring together.
Sleigh Ride Lyrics by David Archuleta
We can stay up late waiting for Santa
Cuddle up beside the fireplace
You can feel the magic baby can’t ya
Reindeer are already on their way
When he comes down the chimney tonight
Hope nobody else will see ’cause
I’ve got another plan in mind
Let’s go on a sleigh ride
See the shinin’ lights
I know that it’s cold up here
But ooh I’ll hold you tight
I hope that he won’t mind
But let’s take Santa’s sleigh for a ride
Let’s take Santa’s sleigh for a ride
Snowflakes falling dancing all around us
Waving to the snowmen on the ground
Christmas feels so sweet now that I found ya
Up so high we’re never going down
Presents for the naughty and the nice
I’m not checking that list twice ’cause
I’ve got another plan in mind
Let’s go on a sleigh ride
See the shinin’ lights
I know that it’s cold up here
But ooh I’ll hold you tight
I hope that he won’t mind
But let’s take Santa’s sleigh for a ride
Let’s take Santa’s sleigh for a ride
Let’s go on a sleigh ride
See the shinin’ lights
I know that it’s cold up here
But ooh I’ll hold you tight
I hope that he won’t mind
But let’s take Santa’s sleigh for a ride
Let’s take Santa’s sleigh for a ride
